• Besides the recent problems with the envelope company, even when things are running well, the parish pays to have envelopes printed and mailed out. Online givers can cancel the envelopes service and we all save money.

• Getting ready to come to church got easier. If you already set up giving online, you don't need to find your envelopes, checkbook or cash. It might feel odd at first when the basket comes around and you're not looking for your donation envelope -- you can just smile at Barbara or Liz or one of our fine ushers and continue praying. They'll smile back knowing that so many parishioners are now giving regularly online.

You can still watch Mass online without sharing your germs. (And thank you for that!)

Whether you're taking the kids to an away travel team tournament, or if you're off to see the grandkids, or just taking a vacation, you can feel better knowing that your regular online contribution is still supporting the valuable work of our parish and -- we don't really need to say this -- the bills NEVER take vacations!n

Speaking of vacations, when your nosey cousin asks, ""How did you afford that lovely vacation?" say, "I got miles (or cash back) from donating to Saint John the Baptist Parish ONLINE using my credit card. Yes, the saying is true: "God helps those who help their church...." (Or something like that.)

We used to use a service called Faith Direct but that company became "ParishSoft."

If you've never given through Parish Soft (or Faith Direct) you can now register for your own account.
