How to celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi at Saint John's...

Celebrate Mass with us...

Since it is the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, Bishop Barres has given permission for parishes to celebrate the Mass of Saint Francis to be celebrated on the weekend of October 4th.

Masses are Saturday 5:15 and Sunday at 8am and 10:30am.

Invite Children to bring....

Invite children to bring a photo or drawing of their pet or if they have a treasured stuffed animal they could bring that along to Mass too.

Explain that Saint Francis loved all God’s creatures and we want to thank God for our pets and all that God has created.

NOTE: They will take these home after Mass.

Do you have a deceased pet?

If you’d like to bring a photo (on paper or on your phone) of a beloved pet that has died, feel free to do so as we will remember them at the Mass.

Come back at 2pm with LIVE pets.

Whether your pet meows, barks, slithers, chirps, neighs, clucks, swims or just quietly nibbles, bring the living pets to our “barking lot” at 2pm. Dogs need to be on leashes and other pets are to be in carriers (as appropriate) so that no pet serves as a meal for another pet!
The ceremony of the Blessing of Animals is a brief ceremony so be sure to arrive on time.
